"Cherie"

1.

How tibetan terriers came into my life spontaneously and more or less unplanned, so having a saluki had been my big and very precise dream, since i was a young girl. For more than 20 years, i was dreaming about this breed, amazed by its gentility, elegant beauty and breathtaking charisma of oriental appearance. From the moment, when i saw salukis in a real for the first time, i knew, i have found my soulmate dog breed. In 1993 – 1999 i was a member of The Saluki & Afghan Club in the Czech Republic ( as the only one without having a sighthound, just like an admirer ), studying with enthusiasm the news-letters, club journals, photos, pedigrees, planned litters … and in the next years visiting all accessible dog shows. Collars nad toys for my “longed for” puppy were, carefully packed, waiting in my cabinet. And it was taking a very long time, till the day “D” came.

I was choosing carefully and i decided for the Arshan kennel in Slovakia and the last litter of their beautiful bitch Ch. Erela Naomi Hadi el Basher. In August 2012, the time has finally come, when our family, including two tibetan terriers Shaggy and Sheila has grown by a new member – sweet little red “fawn” with black fringes – “Cherie” – ARSHAN BEL BLANC, born 19.6.2012.

This amazing little girl has fulfilled all my expectations, even more, she is so much better, than i was ever dreaming …

Already as a 10 weeks old puppy, she was a well-mannered little lady and she keeps her graceful behaviour up to this day. Cherie has a great, good tempered character, she is friendly, cheerful and companionable.

She is absolutely non-conflicting, tries to avoid affrays, however she can defend herself, if neccessary. ( Which took her quite a long time to learn, as a young doggie. ) The life with her is very pleasant, her lovely character is what i appreciate the most on her.

She is a representative of a classic type of saluki, after parents on both sides from reputable, top-class kennels with a long history – “Dadaelis” (USA) and “Hadi el Basher (Belgium). Cherie´s mother Naomi was successful at dog shows and coursings and also her father Ch. Dadaelis T´Ku Khair of Arshan – “Khair” himself and his ancestors have great show and coursing qualities. Naomi lived 13,5 years, she died in may 2019. Khair was imported by the Arshan kennel, but since 2011 he has been living in the Ar´maghaan kennel in Hungary.

Despite her tender appearance, Cherie is a passionable hunter. She solidly runs every run on the racetrack and participates on coursings with a big elan. She couldn´t finish her running licence after beeing attacked in the training phase, which she never forgot, unfortunately. Solo runs are a good alternative therefore. As there is much more place on coursing fields and close body contact is not so unevitable, she feels more confident there and getting a coursing licence was easier.

Cherie has been showed on a few shows in Austria and Slovakia and has reached the title Slovak champion of beauty.

Although sport and shows are exciting, the most beautiful of all our activities is spending time together, in the free nature. We travel quite a lot, trying to visit always new places, but still beeing loyal to our favourite ones. Cherie, who was growing up with me, in Vienna, is used to big city traffic – U-tube, train or bus, however she prefers our car, of course.

Not all dreams are supposed to be fulfilled. Cherie is for me one of those most beautiful, fulfilled ones. My big persian love. Looking forward to the next years with my special girl.”
